Summer Break
Soon after the kids got out for summer break did Sean find
out he was being let go with the company he's been working
with. His employment ended on June 30th. We were
fortunate that he did receive severance pay.
The kids don't seem phased about all this, they've been
enjoying having daddy home. He takes Jack to swimming
lessons, gets lunches, teaches them the fundamentals of
tennis and plays outdoors or video games with them. He's
also been doing tons of work in the house, like laundry,
cleaning out the garage, paint re-touches in the house, etc...
It has been wonderful, I feel like we have a handyman 24
hours a day! We've also been having field trips with the
kids which has been hectic, but fun. We drove up to San
Francisco just to have ice cream from Mitchell's, if you
haven't, you must, the ube is quite delicious. He's taken
the kids to a San Jose Giants game, too bad the team lost
that night. We've taken them to Happy Hollow Park Zoo
and they enjoyed the lemurs, the line to the train ride
was quite long, it will be a while before we do that again.
We also took them to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Siobhan is fascinated with the fish in the huge tanks, she
can't get enough of them. It was hard to believe that it
was raining there, go figure! We also took them to
Pixieland Amusement Park in Concord It was hot,
Siobhan was scared of many of the rides and Caitlin was
bored because there were little kiddie rides but Jack
thought it was the greatest place. It's a small amusement
park really geared for the younger kids, so it wasn't as
crowded. They've also done the RG2 (Raging Waters,
Great America and GolfLand) excursions.
We have been blessed with many wonderful family and
friends who have been praying and helping with the job
hunt. God has been hearing all those prayers and has
answered them! Sean started his new job today working
from home until the company secures a location in the
downtown area of San Jose. Sean is excited and anxious
to work to exercise his brain. I personally think he's tired
of his honey do-lists that never seem to end. ;0) Am I
right, Sean?
Anyways, that's about all aside from visitors from ants.
I think we can handle ants better than rats or mice. I
can't believe Siobhan turns 2 this Saturday! She's been
practicing blowing out the candle, so we'll see how she
does. I have to remember to get her 2 year old pictures
done and call the doctor for her toddler check-up.
Take care and God Bless!
