Family Update 3

Chris arrived back safely from the Philippines on Monday evening,
January 8th. She tried to extend her stay but was unable to as
all flights via Philippine Airlines were booked. Her dad's infected
right leg had to be amputated mid-thigh due to the infection
spreading upward and being diagnosed with septic shock on January
5th at the Makati Medical Center. He also suffered a mild stroke
sometime after he initially collapsed on the 27th of December,
thankfully no blood clots in the brain per the CAT scan. Dr. Paiso
(orthopedic surgeon)sutured the wound on the 8th and reported no
infections from the wound. The latest update from her brother,
Richard, who is still with their mom, was that he is alert and is
very aware that his right leg is gone. He has also started his physical
therapy. The doctors have removed his breathing tube, soon he will
be transferred out of the ICU room into another ward. Their youngest
brother, Jimboy, will be arriving tonight(PI time)to help out. THANKS
