Family Update 8

My mom celebrated her birthday on the 18th of February with a
surprise b-day party thrown by the relatives at the house. My
brother Gus took my dad in for a check-up at FHP and after his
stool sample, the doctor had my dad admitted at GMH (Guam
Memorial Hospital) for observation. The doctors are still baffled
with what's causing his rectal bleeding. Now, they are saying that
he could have tumors in his kidneys, colon or intestines. I talked to
my mom the other day and my dad is still at GMH and the doctor
hasn't given them any results yet. My dad hates being in the hospital
and has been giving my mom and the nursing staff a hard time. I
hope we'll find out soon what's going on.

On a side note, I'm glad I have relatives on Guam who have been
helping my parents out any way they can. From Auntie Lina (my
dad's sister), Uncle Joe (my dad's brother), Maggie, Diego, Auntie
Narcy, Auntie Celia to Auntie Tessie and Ate Cora who have helped
my parents file their medical claim with TakeCare (that in itself was
a great undertaking!). Its nice to know we have relatives who step
up when needed, especially when Rich, Jimboy and I are oceans
apart and can't really help out. It's a good thing I didn't piss off any
of my relatives growing up. My family is truly blessed to have
magnificent family and friends we can count on.
